Discussion: In the sermon notes for August 1st, Joshua 1:8-9 is listed alongside point #1, “The Bible Presents a Success Formula for Life.” What is the context of this passage? What do you think is meant by the phrase “good success?” Discuss what “success” looks like from a biblical point of view. Also, consider how the command to “be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid nor be dismayed” connects to the idea of success.

Have you seen other believers, especially ministers, who did not finish well in their personal lives and ministry, especially in reference to moral failures (i.e. sin)? How did their sins affect others?
