Pastor's Blog: Can We Have Revival?

I believe we have had a wonderful time in the book of Daniel and it has been a joy to bring you these timely messages. If you have missed any of the series the messages are on our website in audio form and on the You Tube page in video form. If you have learned nothing else, I do hope that I have clearly set in your mind that the reason he was able to be used of God in such a mighty way is that he knew his Bible! The question for us will be, do we know our Bibles?

We will continue our study of the Bible through expository preaching of the Word, line by line and word by word. Our next book to study will be First John and, Lord willing, we will begin that on May 16. Please be in prayer for this new series in a most important New Testament book.

This coming Sunday, May 2, Pastor Landon will be preaching. Please be in prayer for the service and remember to thank God for the blessings we have in the fact that Pastor Landon and Pastor Kenny have been given to us for our growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord!

We will be making some changes to our Wednesday evening schedule. Please consider the importance of our midweek meeting and begin making plans to get back to the Lord’s house for a midweek recharge. We will move to a worship service format on May 19 and be changing the starting time to 6:30 pm. We will begin preaching from the book of Hebrews when we make the change. Hebrews is an important New Testament letter from which we can learn much about the character of our Lord Jesus Christ, the plan of redemption, and the call for faithful discipleship in the lives of believers.

Can revival come to the church in America? Can we experience it at Tabernacle? Please read the article in the link from Chuck Lawless. His bullet points will make you think about some of the reasons that revival is not coming. It’s a short read but well worth your time: WHY THE NORTH AMERICAN CHURCH IS UNLIKELY TO EXPERIENCE REVIVAL.

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday! Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together!

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
