Because God is good (1 Chron. 16:34).
Because it is a correct response to God’s righteousness (Ps. 7:17).
Because the Lord helps us (Ps. 28:7).
Because thanksgiving glorifies God (Ps. 50:23).
Because His name is good (Ps. 54:6).
Because thanksgiving magnifies God (Ps. 69:30).
Because God is near to us (Ps. 75:10.
Because God will ultimately deliver His people from their enemies (Ps. 79:13).
Because it is a good thing to do (Ps. 92:1).
Because God is faithful to all generations (Ps. 100:5).
Because God’s steadfast love endures forever (Ps. 107:1).
Because of God’s wondrous works (Ps. 107:8).
Because God is our salvation (Ps. 118:21).
Because He is our God (Ps. 118:28).
Because God has exalted His own name and His word (Ps. 138:2).
Because thanksgiving is a characteristic of righteous people (Ps. 140:13).
Because we are His workmanship and the recipients of His mercy (Psalm 145:9-10).
Because His anger has been turned away from us (Isaiah 12:1).
Because of Jesus’ example of giving thanks (Luke 22:19).
Because others have heard an account of faithful believers (Rom. 1:8).
Because we are no longer slaves to sin (Rom. 6:17).
Because we see God’s grace working in other believers (1 Cor. 1:4).
Because we are given victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:57).
Because of answered prayer (2 Cor. 1:11).
Because God works through believers to spread knowledge of Himself (2 Cor. 2:14).
Because we are commanded to give thanks always and for everything (Eph. 5:20).
Because it is God’s will that we give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thes. 5:18).
Because we see God’s love demonstrated by other believers (2 Thes. 1:3).
Because God entrusts us with the task of serving Him (1 Tim. 1:12).
Because we remember believing friends (Philemon 1:4).
Because we have received a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Heb. 12:28).
