Interim Pastor

Tom Rush is an itinerant Evangelist with TREAD Ministries (Tom Rush Evangelism and Discipleship Ministries) in Monroe, Georgia. He is a native of East Point, Georgia, and a graduate of Georgia Tech (BSIM); Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv); and Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary (DMin).

He has served as a Southern Baptist Pastor for over 37 years, serving churches in North Carolina, New Mexico, Florida, and Georgia. During that time Pastor Rush also served as Reserve Chaplain in the Navy and Air Force, retiring from the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2005. He is the author of Your Reasonable Service: Understanding Your Motivation for Ministry, WestBow Press, 2017

Dr. Rush has served in numerous denominational positions at the local, state and national level, including the Executive Committee of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. He was President of the 2017 Georgia Baptist Preaching Conference and is currently a Trustee of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been married for 42 years to Victoria, a Registered Nurse, and they have three sons and nine grandchildren.

Pastor of Worship & Administration

A native of Chatsworth, GA, Kenny received the Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies with a major in music from Boyce College, a school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Louisville, KY. As a high school student, he was mentored by Lee Chitwood (of First Baptist of Newnan, GA) while Lee served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Chatsworth, GA. While in college, he served as Minister of Music at Parkwood Southern Baptist and Missions Intern & Pianist at Jesus Is Lord Hispanic Baptist Church, both in Clarksville, IN. In addition to worship leadership, Kenny has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus as a choir member and the Seminary Choir of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary as a choir member and soloist.

Prior to coming to TBC, he served as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music and Education at Spring Place Baptist Church of Chatsworth, GA, from 2008-2016, where he was ordained in March of 2010.  His overall desire is to glorify God in every aspect of ministry and especially to see the church built up and the Savior exalted through the singing of biblically-informed, gospel-saturated psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

Kenny has served Tabernacle Baptist Church since January of 2017, and in his spare time he enjoys reading the news, listening to podcasts, and baking. He also enjoys all kinds of science-fiction books and movies, and is a big fan of both Star Trek & Star Wars.

Youth Pastor

Bro. Landon serves as a lay minister to guide our middle school & high school youth in their walks with Christ. He is married to Mallory and they have two children, Judah and Mercy.


Landon loves to pour into the lives of our youth, and he also ministers to our college students through discipleship groups and fellowships. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and rooting for the University of Georgia.

Children's Ministry Director

Melba serves as our Children's Ministry Director and oversees the biblical education of our kids as well as events that are geared toward the various age groups of childhood development. She has assisted with our children's ministry in various roles for years, and ministering to children is something near and dear to her heart.

Melba also enjoys photography in her spare time, and she also serves as our church photographer. You will often see her at special events taking pictures. She also leads and directs our Special Children's Day, an event for children and teens with special needs.

She would love for the opportunity to meet your children and get them involved in the children's ministry here at TBC.

Administrative Assistant / Church Hostess

Lydia Holloman is the Administrative Assistant/Church Hostess and began her employment on June 1, 1993. She has two children, April and Adam.


Lydia serves as the face and voice of Tabernacle Baptist Church in many ways: from answering the phones to preparing and serving our Wednesday Night Supper each week and much more. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening (especially flowers), birdwatching, cooking, sewing, and quilting.

Lisa became the church organist on July 1, 1997. She now serves as the Church Instrumentalist, playing the piano and keyboard as she serves as accompanist for both the choir and congregational singing. She is married to Chris, and they have three children.


She enjoys helping in various church ministries, and you will often find her taking care of little ones and providing assistance for the Worship Ministries of TBC. Her husband, Chris, is our audio-visual technician and employs his skill each week in making sure our technology is operated with excellence for every worship service.

Lake Caretaker

Kevin is our Lake Caretaker and began his employment on January 28, 2008. He is married to Clara, and they have two children. Kevin is responsible for the maintenance of the property, and you may see his friendly face as you enter our lake property. He enjoys fixing old appliances and spending time on various projects.
