This week’s Family Devotional Guide is based on the Scripture reading from Sunday, Psalm 24.
Day 1
Scripture: Psalm 24:1-2
Discussion: This first section of Psalm 24 focuses on God’s sovereignty over creation as its creation. Discuss the implications that flow from the fact that the earth and everything on it belongs to the Lord. What does this tell us about God? What does this tell us about God’s control over all things, and how should this deepen our level of trust in Him?
Song: “Across the Lands” by Stuart Townend & Keith Getty
Day 2
Scripture: Psalm 24:3-6
Discussion: What does the psalmist mean by “ascend the hill of the Lord” and what is “his holy place”? What does this passage tell us about the importance of personal holiness? How does the fact that only the holy may approach the Lord connect with the work of our Lord Jesus Christ on our behalf? Spend some time asking the Lord to reveal areas of sin in your life and thanking Him that there is forgiveness and fellowship with Him through the perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

Day 3
Scripture: Psalm 24:7-10
Discussion: In this section, the psalmist is calling upon huge gates and doors to fling open to make room for the Lord in His glory. What does this tell us about God’s glory and majesty? Discuss the different phrases used to describe the Lord in this passage. How might you explain the majesty of the Lord to an unbeliever who is unfamiliar with the teachings of the Bible?
