DAY 1
SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 1:3-7
DISCUSSION: In the opening to the book of 1 Timothy, the apostle Paul recalls the faith of Timothy’s mother Eunice and grandmother Lois. Then, he says to “fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,” probably a reference to Timothy’s ordination to Christian ministry. Do you think Timothy would have been a minister had it not been for these two ladies? Why or why not? What does this tell us of the impact that mothers and grandmothers have?

DAY 2
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 31:10-31
DISCUSSION: This passage in Proverbs is probably the quintessential passage many of us think of when considering motherhood and womanhood. Spend some time thinking through these qualities of a godly woman. If you are a woman, how can you foster these qualities in your own life? If you are a man, how can you support the women in your life as they seek to become a “Proverbs 31 woman”?

DAY 3
SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:27
DISCUSSION: What does this passage teach us about the distinctiveness of each gender? While the world may devalue the differences between manhood and womanhood, how might we as Christians properly value the roles of men and women? In light of Mother’s Day, discuss what it means to have a biblical view of motherhood.
