Pastor's Blog: Baptist Men's Day

We have had a great time in the Word as we have worked our way through Philippians Chapter 1. We will break from our series on Philippians this Sunday as we observe Baptist Men’s Day. We are living in days where the role of men is not only being diminished but attacked. Society seems to want feminine men and masculine women. This is not God’s design.

But, “What’s a Man to Do?” This is the title of my message on Sunday and will come from Proverbs 30:1-17. We could title the message, “What’s a Church to Do?” It will be an important and timely message for Tabernacle, and especially the men of the church.

On Sunday night, following the evening service, we will begin a new men’s Bible study, the MFL, or Men Fearing the Lord. I am looking forward to this time of discipleship with our men. All men age 13 and above are welcome. We’ll meet in the Great Room and then afterwards will have a time of fellowship at a local restaurant. We will begin the study looking at the book, “Returning to Holiness,” by Dr. Greg Frizzell.

Please be in prayer for several upcoming events. I am excited about the 180 Rally with The Old Paths on February 28 at 7 pm. We will have “a concert of praise, worship & testimony celebrating God’s goodness and His awesome power to set one free from addiction!”

We will follow up the concert with a Revival beginning on March 1 and running through Wednesday night, March 4. Please get these dates on the calendar. Pastor Mike Stone of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Blackshear will be our preacher. He is one of the finest young preachers in the Southern Baptist Convention. We need every TBC member to be present for both the concert and each revival service. Pray, attend, invite, and get excited about what God is doing in our church!

Wednesday night – we are continuing a very important study! Join us at 6:15 for prayer meeting as we work through Thom Rainer’s “Autopsy of a Deceased Church.” Your input is crucial – looking forward to seeing you on Wednesdays.

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together.

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
