Pastor's Blog: The Power to Change Lives

We have started our series where I will be preaching through the book of Philippians. We are looking at the introductory material from the Book of Acts where Paul received the Macedonian Call. That was last week’s message. This message we will see the tremendous power of the Gospel to change and transform people’s lives.

Have you truly experienced the transforming power of Jesus? If you are genuinely saved the evidence will be that you are never the same again. You have new desires, a new heart, a new joy and a new thirst for the Word of God. As we study through Philippians, we will see the manifest power God falling on a people who were open to receive God’s truth. The transforming power of God brought great JOY to their lives.

I am grateful for those of you are coming to prayer meeting on Wednesday nights. We are having a great time in our study of “How to Develop a Powerful Prayer Life,” by Dr. Gregory Frizzell. He will be with us in a couple of weeks, please make plans to be here for every session of our “Going Deeper with God” Conference next weekend, Oct. 26-27.

I am writing this from Kentucky. Today at Morehead State University we had 38 Gospel Conversations! One young couple I talked to were Agnostics. The gentleman had a bad experience in a church when he was younger. But both were interested and appreciated the non-confrontational approach we use with the survey. They did not pray to receive Christ but both walked away thanking me for talking to them and with a commitment to read the Gospel of John! Please pray for the Lord to save them – Tyler and Shateka. Pray for Matthew Mofield (Director) and the BCM at MSU as they follow up.

I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together. God is Good, Amen?!

Blessings, YFJS, Bro Tom
