MISS PEARL AMELIA BIGLER
MISSIONARY TO BRAZIL
Tabernacle Baptist Church has a rich history of missionary support, extending to the commission of one of our own, Miss Pearl Amelia Bigler (1898-1969), to serve as a missionary to Brazil. She helped found the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Porto Alegre, which later became known as Mt. Serat Baptist Church (Igreja Batista Mont'Serrat).

In the fall of October 2025, we received a message on our Instagram account from a member of Mont'Serrat asking for information on Miss Pearl Bigler for an upcoming documentary on the history of their church as they celebrate their 90th anniversary in 2026.

As a result of that communication, we have searched our archives and found records that we have now digitized for use by our sister congregation, as well as anyone else interested in the legacy of Ms. Bigler. We have also included a letter from Frances Hawkins (missionary co-laborers with Ms. Bigler, also from Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon). Feel free to record those archives below, and let us pause to give thanks for how the Lord used her.

May the words from her final letter be our prayer as well: "I've tried to do my best with what has been entrusted to me to use for Him."
