Day 1
Scripture: Nehemiah 8:1-5, 9b
Discussion: The sermon point on v. Neh. 8:1-5 was titled, “A Return to the Word of God.” Obviously return indicates a prior departure, which is why they wept (v. 9b). Have you swerved from the Word of God? It rarely begins with a 180-degree turn. Most of the time it begins with smaller compromises. Consider how you may have neglected God’s Word & repent of that sin.
Song: “Speak, O Lord” by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend
Day 2
Scripture: Nehemiah 8:7-9
Discussion: How often do you thank God for our ministers, staff, Sunday School teachers or others who faithfully teach the Word of God? Spend some time thanking the Lord for them, and commit to be faithful to the opportunities provided at church where a preacher/teacher is provided to help us “understand the reading” of the written Word.
Song: “How Firm a Foundation” words from John Rippon’s Selection of Hymns; music from Joseph Funk’s Genuine Church Music
Day 3
Scripture: Nehemiah 8:13-18
Discussion: Notice the sermon point tied to this section: “A Revival from the Word of God.” Is that where you are turning to be revived and changed? Reaffirm your commitment to seek the Lord, and ask for Him to refresh and renew you.
Song: “Center” by Charlie Hall and Matt Redman
