Day 1
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 5:1-2
Discussion: In this passage, we find the church of Corinth were not mourning sin (a man engaging in sexual relations with his stepmother) but celebrating it. For this, Paul calls them arrogant and tells them that the man should be “removed from among you.” How might we see this celebration of sin in the modern church, especially in America? Why do you think they were lauding this sin?

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 5:3-5
Discussion: What does Paul mean by his instruction to deliver the sinful man (from verses 1-2) “to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord?” Spend some time discussing the meaning of this challenging section of Scripture.

Discussion: Discuss the principle that “a little leaven leavens the whole lump.” How have you seen this play out in church life? Why does Paul segue from this idea into Christ being our Passover Lamb?
