Discussion: Are you seeking after Christ desperately? This is the context of Psalm 42 (v. 1 especially). How do you handle moments of discouragement when worship is difficult? What helpful lessons do we find in Psalm 42?

Scripture: Revelation 2:1-7
Discussion: This passage relates directly to spiritual revival in the church. Have you considered that your behavior as a member of TBC will impact the overall life of the church? Spend some time considering whether it may be true of you that “you have abandoned the love you had at first” (Rev. 2:4, ESV). If so, consider the remedy and “repent, and do the works you did at first” (v. 4).

Day 3
Scripture: Revelation 2:8-11
Discussion: In the passage above, what comfort to the church in Smyrna was given? If they were promised “the crown of life,” keep in mind that the promise was also given to everyone who faces persecution (James 1:12). John MacArthur has noted that this could be translated as the crown which is life. In other words, life eternal itself is our crown (i.e. our reward). Spend some time thanking God for salvation, and pray for the strength to face persecution that may come your way.
