Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Discussion: As we consider the fact that Christ rose from the grave nearly 2,000 years ago, we must remember that this is an essential element of the gospel message (see v. 4). Do you often omit the resurrection when sharing the gospel? Why is the resurrection so vital to the gospel message? Commit to make it an important part of your gospel presentations.
Song: “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” by Charles Wesley & Samuel Arnold
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:7-8
Discussion: Spend some time considering the witness of these individuals and groups. Study and find references in the Scripture of the encounters these individuals had with the risen Christ. Discuss why it was so important that Christ not only rose again, but that He also spent time on this earth before He ascended into heaven.
Song: “Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed” by Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty & Ed Cash
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:9-11
Discussion: As Paul considered the reality of Christ’s resurrection, He responded with humility. As those of us who have turned to the risen Christ for salvation, we must likewise respond with humility. How amazing it is that the risen Christ raised us to new life as well! Also, what a joy it is to consider that Christ’s resurrection reminds us that He will one day raise His followers to be with Him in heaven. What a day that will be!
