DAY 1
SCRIPTURE: Daniel 1:8; 1 Corinthians 10:13
DISCUSSION: One of the points in Sunday’s sermon is that Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael & Azariah were able to be courageous because “They knew their Bibles!” How does knowing the Word of God increase courage? Do you know the Word of God so well that it will strengthen your faith during times of persecution?

DAY 2
SCRIPTURE: Daniel 1:8-16
DISCUSSION: Bro. Tom makes the point that “Faith is not believing in spite of the evidence, it is obeying in spite of the consequences.” These four young Hebrews knew the danger that could result, as did the chief of the eunuchs (v. 10). Had they lost weight, etc., severe punishment could result. Bro. Tom pointed out that these young men knew Scripture and thus would have known Jeremiah 29. How might that chapter influence their faith and willingness to take this courageous stand?

DAY 3
SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17
DISCUSSION: Do you give thought to making sure your actions glorify God? Bro. Tom noted that we must “Understand that in every circumstance and situation your goal, your objective, your purpose should be to glorify God.” Is that true of your life? Spend some time in careful consideration and prayer.
