Pastor's Blog: Father's Day

It has been a great blessing to get back into the building and worship together. I am convinced that worship together is safe. We have made great efforts at keeping the facility clean and sanitized. Social distancing is strongly encouraged, and masks are optional but more than acceptable. Please continue to watch our “Welcome Home” page on the website for details.

We have started our new series in the Book of Daniel. Sermon notes are available on line and printed copies are available in the foyer area. The life of integrity exemplified in Daniel and his three friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah should serve as a great encouragement to all of us. In particular this is so for Fathers. We desperately need men of God to step up and set godly examples of integrity in both church and community.

I hope you will join us for worship this Father’s Day. We will continue to consider the actions of some of God’s choice servants who were faithful in the most trying of circumstances.

Men, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of your growth in grace and holiness. While I am grateful for the men who are making the effort to join us on Zoom each Sunday night at 6:30 pm for our MFL study of J.C. Ryle’s book, Holiness, I admit being disappointed at the number who are not participating. This is a tremendous opportunity for you. For those of you who are not tech savvy and want to participate - get your grandchildren to help you! Otherwise, hang on; we will be meeting back in the building on Sunday, July 5.

We are having a great time with our Wednesday night prayer service live on Facebook at 7 pm. The Q&A on the Bible with Pastor Tom has been interesting, and I believe we are learning a lot. Please join us on Facebook live for this important time of prayer and study, and please send in your questions! We will begin meeting in the building on July 1!

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together – once again, in-person!

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
